Allen M. Schoen, DVM, MS
Dr. Schoen is one of the pioneers in acupuncture and natural therapies, developing and practicing them since 1981. He is certified in both veterinary acupuncture and veterinary chiropractic, with extensive advanced training in botanical medicine and homeopathy. The best of all these therapies are integrated into his practice. He divides his time between seeing large and small animal patients, teaching acupuncture and complementary veterinary medicine throughout the world, and writing books for the public and other professionals. Dr. Schoen sees horses in western Connecticut, and in Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess Counties in New York. He sees small animals out of the Quarry Ridge Animal Hospital in Ridgefield, CT. Bradley W. Amery, D.V.M.
Equine Associate
Dr. Amery was born in Montreal, Canada and graduated from the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. After receiving his DVM degree in 1996, Dr. Amery completed a one-year internship with Dr. Brendan W. Furlong and his exclusively equine practice that concentrates on sports medicine for high level competition horses.
Dr. Amery practiced traditional western equine medicine for nine years as a foundation to post graduate training in Veterinary Chiropractic and Veterinary Acupuncture.
He is certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association, having received his training in Veterinary Chiropractic (veterinary spinal manipulative therapy) from the Healing Oasis Wellness Center. He is a graduate of the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Veterinary Acupuncture. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Equine Practitioners.
Dr. Amery lives in Western Connecticut with his wife and three cats.
Lisa J. Donato, D.V.M.
Small Animal Associate
Dr. Donato received both her BS in Biology and her DVM degrees from Cornell University. She has a strong background in conventional western veterinary medicine and soft tissue surgery having practiced for over seventeen years. She received her Certificates in Veterinary Acupuncture and Veterinary Tui Na (a Chinese medical massage or manual therapy) from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. In addition, she received her training in Chinese Veterinary Herbal Medicine from the Chi Institute. She is a member of many veterinary organizations including the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, and the China Society of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Donato’s philosophy is to incorporate the best of Western and Eastern Veterinary Medicine in order to provide the finest healthcare possible for her patients. At home, Dr. Donato enjoys spending time with her adopted greyhound Jordan, whom she rescued from a racetrack.
Wendy B. Harris, D.V.M.
Small Animal Associate
Dr. Harris, a Fairfield county native, graduated from Dartmouth College and later from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She studied Veterinary Acupuncture at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Harris sees small animal clients out of the Quarry Ridge Animal Hospital where she practices Veterinary Acupuncture and Complementary Medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. She is currently pursuing advanced certification in Chinese Herbal Medicine through the Chi Institute.
